Previously available exclusively on Disney+, the series was brought to life by a powerful trio of animation studios: SUNRISE, known for Mobile Suit Gundam and Love Live!, Kamikaze Douga, celebrated for opening sequences of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Pop Team Epic, and ANIMA, a studio specializing in high-quality 3DCG animation.
The story is split into two arcs across 13 episodes:
Episodes 1–6 cover the Prince of Demons Arc—a reimagining of the 2023 theatrical film SAND LAND, now with unreleased and newly animated scenes.
Episodes 7–13 present the Angels and Guardians Arc, an all-new storyline set in Forest Land, personally conceived and titled by Akira Toriyama himself.
New Key Visual and Characters Revealed
The newly unveiled key visual shows Beelzebub, the son of the Demon King Satan, and Muniel, an angelic warrior who calls himself a hero, both reaching forward as if competing—capturing the duality at the heart of the show’s two arcs.
Story Summary
In the desert kingdom of Sand Land, both humans and monsters suffer from a crippling water shortage. The people rely on overpriced water sold by the greedy king to survive.
A righteous human sheriff named Rao sets out on a quest to find the mythical “Legendary Spring,” and he enlists the help of monsters. One of them is Beelzebub, the playful yet immensely powerful son of the Demon King Satan, who boasts that he once “stayed up late and went to bed without brushing his teeth.” Beelzebub is joined by Thief, an elderly-looking but quick-witted monster who is actually not much older than Beelzebub himself.
As they journey together, Rao comes to understand that monsters are not humanity’s enemies—and that friendship and trust can be found in the unlikeliest of places.
