“Manga Kingdom Tottori” Makes Bold Impression With Governor in Costume
Tottori, which promotes itself as “Manga Kingdom Tottori”, brought a high-energy presence to the event. Governor Hirai first appeared in Kitaro cosplay during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, then later surprised audiences by transforming into a Conan-style outfit as the event unfolded.
Taking center stage, Hirai joined Kitaro and Conan for a comedic trio performance, exchanging witty banter that resembled a traditional Japanese manzai act. Stepping into character, he joked:
“He says, ‘Have you seen Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback yet?’”
His playful impersonation drew laughter and cheers from fans, reinforcing Tottori’s strong connection to both anime franchises.
