— What’s the vibe like at the recording sessions?

Aoi: I’ve never really felt like “I’m the lead!” It’s mostly Hiro Shimono (who voices Nabiiyu) taking the lead, and that’s been huge for us.

Tachibana: No doubt about it!

Fujimoto: Absolutely!

Aoi: I’d heard this legend that the protagonist gets to sit in the center seat in the studio, but I’d always sat to the side in other roles. For episode one, they gently suggested I sit closer to the center. So I started slightly off-center, then gradually moved closer. I was clueless about things like operating the air purifier or opening doors. Sometimes I gathered the courage to do things myself, but the senior cast members were so kind. They’d say things like, “It’s okay, don’t worry,” or “Just relax,” or “I brought snacks.” Beyond just acting, seeing how they carry themselves on set made me want to be like them.

Tachibana: Totally get that!

Aoi: They’re kind and cool. The Band Snatch group—Chiaki Kobayashi, Shoya Chiba, Junya Enoki, and Shunsuke Takeuchi—are technically our enemies, but as seniors, they’re hilarious and kind. I was so nervous during episode one, but as I got used to their vibe, I started looking forward to seeing whether I could keep from laughing. It’s such a warm environment.

Tachibana: Band Snatch brings lots of ad-libs. We were given permission to ad-lib more, but we were too nervous at first. Shimono-san and the Band Snatch guys demonstrated for us, like, “Here’s how you do it,” which really helped. Now we understand, “Oh, so that’s okay!” When we’re unsure, like with a punching sound in a battle scene, they kindly teach us.

Aoi: We ask so many questions.

Tachibana: We really do, and thanks to that, we’re growing step by step. Everyone is super kind. It’s a place full of laughter.

Aoi: We’re always laughing.

Tachibana: Even during breaks, if I try to crack a joke, they always respond. I’m spoiled! (laughs)

— Sounds like it’ll be a big year for you.

Tachibana: Definitely. We’re growing for sure.

Fujimoto: I hope so!

Aoi & Tachibana: Yeah.

Fujimoto: Even during group background recordings, the seniors come over to mix in with us. They don’t have to, but they chat with us and help a lot. It’s so fun. Since it’s an original anime, there’s freedom to try things. Whether something works is up to the creators. Band Snatch especially runs with this spirit—they want to leave a mark and expand their screen time.

Tachibana: They said that! (laughs)

Fujimoto: Seeing that attitude is so inspiring. Even though they’re already amazing, they stay passionate and present. That mindset is really educational for us. It’s not just about ad-libs—their presence in intense battle scenes helps set the tone. Because of that, we can also fight our hardest as princesses. Their leadership in both vibe and performance is invaluable.

Tachibana: Couldn’t agree more.

Fujimoto: We’re really grateful. It’s pure happiness.
