The latest volume of the fantasy-mystery light novel Who Killed the Hero?, published under Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, will be released on May 30. Alongside the new cover illustration, the publisher has announced a three-day limited digital sale and unveiled character visuals from the upcoming game adaptation.

A Post-Heroic Fantasy Mystery

Set in a world where the hero has already defeated the demon lord, Who Killed the Hero? weaves a suspenseful tale mixing fantasy and mystery. It was ranked #1 New Title and #2 in the Bunko category in This Light Novel is Amazing! 2025 (published by Takarajimasha), and placed 5th in the Bunko category of the Next Light Novel Awards 2024.

As of February, the series has surpassed 100,000 copies in print for Volume 1 alone, and 250,000 total copies (print and digital combined).

Volume 3: A Hero and a Princess

The new cover illustration features a girl standing on a balcony with the wind in her hair, watched over by a man behind her. Volume 3 unfolds a poignant tale of a hero and princess, first introduced at the beginning of their journey.
