The anime adaptation of Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood is set to premiere in July, airing every Friday at 11:00 p.m. on NTV’s FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT programming block. Additionally, as the third phase of the Tougen Anki cross-media project following the stage play and anime, a smartphone game is scheduled for release in 2025.

The newly released promotional video centers on protagonist Shiki Ichinose, who discovers that he is an "Oni" (demon), and features fresh animation focusing on his new life at Rasetsu Academy, a school for Oni training.

Further announcements include the introduction of a new character—Kyoya Oiranzaka, the Commander of the Kyoto Branch’s Support Unit of the Oni Organization—who will be voiced by Ryohei Kimura. A second key visual has also been unveiled, depicting the Rasetsu Academy members venturing through a sinister underground passage illuminated in red, led by instructor Naito Mudano.

Synopsis

“You carry the blood of the Oni…”

The bloodlines of “Oni” and “Momotaro” have been passed down through a select few. Long ago, the Oni, aware of their violent tendencies, lived in secrecy—until the Momotaro invaded their peace. Both sides formed organizations—the Momotaro Agency and the Oni Organization—and have clashed for millennia.

After a sudden attack by the Momotaro, Shiki Ichinose learns that he is, in fact, an Oni. As he encounters the demon within his own blood, his destined path begins to unfold.

Thus begins a new-generation dark hero saga.
