"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from February 2016 to May 2020, is a popular series with over 150 million copies of the comics in circulation. The story is set in the Taisho era in a world inhabited by man-eating demons and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who joins the "Demon Slayer Corps" to avenge his family killed by demons and to turn his demon-transformed sister Nezuko back into a human.

The first season of the anime was broadcast from April to September 2019, igniting its popularity and turning it into a social phenomenon. The movie "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train," which continues from the final episode of the anime, was released in October 2020 and became a major hit, surpassing 40 billion yen in domestic box office revenue. The second season "Entertainment District Arc" was broadcast from December 2021, continuing the story from the movie, and the third season "Swordsmith Village Arc" was aired from April to June 2023.

The new anime series "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Pillar Training Arc" will cover episodes from volumes 15 to 16 of the original manga, depicting a story where Tanjiro and his comrades receive training from the highest-ranking swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Pillars, to become stronger.
