MF Ghost Manga Concludes After 7.5 Years, Anime Season 3 Airs in 2026

The manga MF Ghost (by Shuichi Shigeno) has concluded with its final chapter in the 12th issue of Young Magazine, released today, February 17. The series, which began serialization in September 2017 as the successor to Initial D, has now ended after a 7.5-year run. Alongside this, it was announced that Season 3 of the MF Ghost anime will air in 2026.

MF Ghost’s Story

MF Ghost follows Kanata Katagiri, a disciple of Initial D protagonist Takumi Fujiwara, who comes to Japan from the UK to compete in the public road racing circuit MFG. Set in a near-future world following Initial D, the manga features intense battles on real-life roads, showcasing supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and other international manufacturers.

A Popular Manga and Anime Adaptation

With over 5 million copies in circulation, the MF Ghost manga has gained a strong following. The anime’s first season aired from October to December 2023, and the second season is scheduled for October to December 2024. To celebrate the manga’s conclusion, Young Magazine Web has made chapters 232 through to just before the final chapter of the “Atami Ghost Arc Finals” available for free. Additionally, a commemorative video has been released, featuring messages from the anime’s staff, cast, and theme song artists.
