In response to an impossible request from an envoy who wishes to meet the "Moon Spirit," Maomao consults the shrewd madam of Rokushokan, a brothel where the so-called "Moon Spirit" resided over fifty years ago. Combining the old stories with a fantastical painting commissioned by the envoy’s grandfather upon returning to his homeland, Maomao sets out for the imperial garden where the Moon Spirit is said to have once performed.

While there, she unexpectedly encounters Shisui, who is collecting insects. As they converse, Maomao devises a secret plan. On the night of the banquet, under the radiant waxing moon, a stunning Moon Spirit appears before the gathered envoys. What could be the true purpose of these two special envoys?
