The latest Gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (GQuuuuuuX), a joint production by Sunrise and Studio Khara, has revealed new character details. Ahead of its TV broadcast, the theatrical version Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will be released, featuring a restructured compilation of early episodes.

The newly announced characters include members of the salvage company Kaneban Ltd., who cross paths with the protagonist, Amate Yuzuriha. Additionally, characters from the Zeon Principality Army, including Challia Bull and Char Aznable, along with various Mobile Suits (MS), have been revealed.

Voice cast details have also been announced. Challia Bull, the "Man Who Returned from Jupiter" and a Zeon Colonel, will be voiced by Shinji Kawada. Xavier Olivette, a Zeon Second Lieutenant and top graduate of the Flanagan School, will be voiced by Seiichiro Yamashita. Comoli Harcourt, an elite Zeon Second Lieutenant from the officer academy, will be voiced by Akane Fujita.
Meanwhile, the legendary Red Comet, Char Aznable, who rises from Major to Colonel, will be voiced by Yuki Shin. Denim, a Zeon Sergeant and Zaku pilot under Char, will be voiced by Kosuke Goto. Dren, Char’s adjutant who later becomes a Zeon Captain, will be voiced by Taichi Takeda.

Red Gundam and Classic Mobile Suits Revealed

Set in U.C. 0085, the latest installment introduces a mysterious red Gundam (model number: gMS-α), which suddenly appears in Side 6 to participate in Clan Battles. Concept art for this unit has been revealed, alongside key Mobile Suits from both factions:

A New Gundam Series by Sunrise and Studio Khara

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest entry in the Gundam franchise, produced collaboratively by Sunrise and Studio Khara, known for their work on the Evangelion series. The TV series is slated to air on the Nippon TV network.

The director is Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for helming the Rebuild of Evangelion series, including Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (2021). The series composition is handled by Yoji Enokido, while mechanical designs are crafted by Ikuto Yamashita, making for a star-studded production team.

Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.

When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.

Under the entry name "Machu," she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.

Now their world is about to enter a new era.
