The second season of the TV anime My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) is set to begin airing on January 6, 2025, on TOKYO MX and other networks. Alongside this announcement, the synopsis and preview stills for Episode 14 (the series' cumulative count) have been revealed.

Main PV and New Character Voices

The main promotional video for Season 2 has also been released, featuring the debut of Haruka Tomatsu as Kaoruko Jinnochi, the only female member of the Special Anti-Abnormality Unit. Additional new characters, whose details remain under wraps, make their first appearances in this teaser.

Special New Year Program Featuring the Main Cast

Fans can look forward to a special New Year program starring the main cast: Reina Ueda, Kaito Ishikawa, Hiro Shimono, and Haruka Tomatsu. The program will premiere on January 1 at noon, adding a festive touch to the series' promotion.

A Unique Romance in a Historical Fantasy Setting

Set in a fictional world reminiscent of Japan's Meiji and Taisho eras, My Happy Marriage follows the politically arranged marriage between Kiyoka Kudo, a reserved elite military officer, and Miyo Saimori, a girl who endured years of abuse from her family. Season 2 delves into the mystery surrounding Miyo's "Usuba Blood," testing the couple’s love and resilience as they face new challenges.

About the Original Work

The anime is based on the popular novel series of the same name by Akumi Agitogi, with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, published under Kadokawa’s Fujimi L Bunko imprint. With over 8 million copies sold across the series, My Happy Marriage has also been adapted into a manga by Rito Kosaka, which won multiple awards, including the top spot in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics 2021.

The franchise has expanded into live-action and stage adaptations, with a 2023 film starring Ren Meguro (Snow Man) and Mio Imada, and an original stage production in August 2023.

Episode 14: “Another Kudo Household” Synopsis

Miyo continues to struggle with mastering her "Dream-Sight" powers, feeling frustrated by her lack of progress. Under the guidance of Arata and Hazuki, she diligently hones her abilities and manners to become a suitable fiancée for Kiyoka. One day, Kiyoka's father, Masaki, arrives in the capital, inviting Miyo to the Kudo family’s villa while assigning Kiyoka to investigate recent disturbances near the residence.
