With the passing of voice actress Atsuko Tanaka in August this year, it has been officially announced on Nippon Television's website that Takako Honda will be taking over the role of Mary in the TV anime 'Detective Conan.'

The show's program guide on the same website lists Takako Honda as the voice of "Mary" for the episode titled "Hotel Serial Bombing Case (Part 1)," which aired on the 7th.

The upcoming episode, "Hotel Serial Bombing Case (Part 1)," features Conan visiting the Haito Hotel upon an invitation from Masumi Sera, who had obtained a code used in a hotel bombing case that was causing a public uproar. Sera and her mother, Mary Sera, known as the "Sister Outside the Domain," had a particular reason for making this invitation.

Conan and Sera soon find themselves at the scene of a new bomb threat, learning that the bomber's next target is the same hotel. Together with Kogoro's wife, Eri Kisaki—a hotel advisor who happened to be present—they embark on decrypting the code to identify the room where the bomb is set and find the bomber.

Atsuko Tanaka was known for her work as the Japanese voice of Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, and others, as well as her roles in anime, including Motoko Kusanagi in 'Ghost in the Shell,' Lisa Lisa in 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure,' Misuzu Suenaga in 'Salaryman Kintaro,' Caster in 'Fate/stay night,' Hanami in 'Jujutsu Kaisen,' and Flamme in 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.'

Takako Honda, on the other hand, is known for voicing Maxwell (JP: Noppo-kun) in 'Hamtaro,' Empress Underg in 'Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure,' and Anko Mitarashi in 'NARUTO.' She is also well-known as the Japanese dub voice for Halle Berry and Milla Jovovich.
