Cast Comments
Shigeru Chiba (Kashiwazaki Nenji / Okina)
"I’ve had the privilege of voicing Okina, who may appear to be a carefree old man but is actually a skilled former member of the Oniwabanshū. I focused on clearly differentiating his dual nature. This anime’s well-researched historical background and thoughtfully crafted characters make it a must-watch!"
Kenjirō Itō (Sadojima Hoji)
"I was thrilled to get the chance to work on one of my favorite childhood manga. I’ve even participated in cycling events on Sado Island, so voicing Sadojima Hoji feels like destiny! Hoji’s unwavering loyalty to Shishio, despite his physical frailty, creates moments of unintentional humor amidst the intense action. I hope these lighter moments provide a refreshing break in the story’s darker tones."
Yūya Hirose (Arai Seikū)
"I’m honored to play Arai Seikū, a peaceful character who has stopped forging swords. His interactions with Kenshin and the others challenge his beliefs, and I hope viewers appreciate his personal growth throughout the series."
Natsuki Aikawa (Omasu)
"As a lifelong fan of both the manga and the original anime, being part of Rurouni Kenshin is a dream come true. I aim to convey the strength and resolve of Omasu as a member of the Kyoto Oniwabanshū."
Why Fans Are Excited
The Kyoto Inferno Arc marks one of the most beloved storylines in Rurouni Kenshin. The addition of these dynamic characters, combined with the show's updated animation and adherence to the original story, promises to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers.
