"Futo PI: Kamen Rider Skull’s Portrait" Hit Movie Celebration PV Released: Sōkichi Passes His Hat to Shōtarō – “Become a Man Worthy of It”
A special celebration PV for the hit movie "Futo PI: Kamen Rider Skull’s Portrait" has been unveiled, offering fans a deeper glimpse into this emotional story.
A Sequel Rooted in Legacy
"Futo PI", the manga continuation of the "Kamen Rider W" series, has captivated fans since its serialization began in Weekly Big Comic Spirits in August 2017. The manga, a direct sequel to the 11th installment of the Heisei-era Kamen Rider series (aired from September 2009 to August 2010), has surpassed 2.4 million copies in circulation. In August 2022, it made history as the first Kamen Rider series to receive an anime adaptation, broadening its appeal across generations.
The new theatrical release revisits the pivotal Begins Night episode, which explores how the protagonists Shōtarō Hidari (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya) and Philip (voiced by Kōki Uchiyama) came to fight as Kamen Rider W. Kenjirō Tsuda portrays Shōtarō’s mentor, Sōkichi Narumi, while Ayumu Murase voices young Shōtarō.
A PV Filled with Emotion
Set to the movie’s theme song "Become a Man Worthy of It", written, composed, and performed by Koji Kikkawa under the name “Sōkichi Narumi,” the PV beautifully captures Shōtarō’s relationship with his mentor. The video highlights their first encounter and the iconic moment when Sōkichi passes on his trademark hat to Shōtarō.
Shōtarō’s heartfelt words, “Please, don’t… I’m not ready to wear the hat yet…”, resonate deeply. Sōkichi’s parting message, “Become a man worthy of it, Shōtarō,” serves as a powerful conclusion, leaving fans eager to watch this moving chapter unfold.
