Since the release of the original Fate/stay night PC game in 2004, the Fate series has expanded into numerous spin-offs and media adaptations, remaining beloved for over 20 years. Fate/Zero, a prequel novel written by Gen Urobuchi in 2006, was later adapted into a TV anime from 2011 to 2012.

In this stage musical adaptation, Gen Urobuchi himself will supervise the script, with Hideyuki Nishimori, known for his work in the theater world, handling the script, direction, and lyrics. Further details about the creative team, cast, and performance schedule will be announced at a later date.

Comment from Gen Urobuchi:

It's a tremendous honor to bring a work from a time when my ambitions and passions took a different form back to audiences in this way. It feels as though I’ve regained my youth.

Fate/Zero is a monumental novel for me, and it’s no exaggeration to say that Gen Urobuchi as he stands today is here because of this work. I’m thrilled to see it reborn in this new form in the Reiwa era.

Comment from Hideyuki Nishimori:

Fate/Zero is a legendary masterpiece. It’s a work that will likely be regarded as a classic hundreds of years from now.

Gen Urobuchi’s writing, recognized for its brilliance, is profound literature. It’s a vivid human drama, comparable to Shakespeare or Chikamatsu Monzaemon.

Transforming Fate/Zero into a musical, we explore themes like "What is justice?", "What is a king?", "The silence of God," and "The salvation of the world." These themes, woven by the characters of Kiritsugu, Saber, and others in the Holy Grail War, will be expressed through melody and song, reflecting the nature of the world we live in today.

If we are to portray a legendary work, then we must respond with a legendary stage production. With a talented cast and a knowledgeable staff, we aim to create a groundbreaking musical that transcends genres. I will give everything I have to take on this project.
