'WIND BREAKER' Stage Adaptation Premieres January 2025 – Full Cast Announced Including Ryoga Ishikawa as Haruka Sakura
The popular manga WIND BREAKER will be adapted into a stage play. The Osaka performance will be held at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall from January 3 to January 5, 2025, and the Tokyo performance will take place at Theater H from January 10 to January 19, 2025.
The production will be directed by Gou Ueki, known for his work on Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage and the stage adaptation of Cyborg 009, as well as the upcoming Attack on Titan: The Musical set to perform in New York in October 2024. The script will be written by Kaori Miura, who has directed the Tokyo Revengers musical and worked on The Prince of Tennis Musical 4th season and Nanairo Inko.
The cast includes Ryoga Ishikawa as Haruka Sakura, Hiroki Sana as Hajime Umemiya, Shunichi Takahashi as Touma Hiiragi, Yumeto Ando as Hayato Suou, Taiga Nakamoto as Kyotaro Sugishita, Kazan Yokoyama as Akihiko Nirei, Hikaru Imamaki as Choji Tojyama, Masamichi Satonaka as Jo Togame, YUKI as Kota Sako, Ryota Kono as Yukinari Arima, Yuta Chatani as Minoru Kanuma, and Karin Takahashi as Kotoha Tachibana.
WIND BREAKER is a popular delinquent manga serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app. Set in Fuurin High School, known for its lowest academic standards but strongest in fights, it tells the story of Haruka Sakura, who arrives aiming for the top and joins the "Boufuurin," a group of students who protect their city. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024, and the second season is set to air in 2025.
