BLEACH was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016. The story follows the protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki, who gains the powers of a Soul Reaper after meeting Rukia Kuchiki, and chronicles the adventures of Ichigo and his friends.

The manga has sold over 130 million copies worldwide, has been adapted into games, and was turned into a live-action movie starring Sota Fukushi in 2018. Additionally, the TV anime ran from 2004 to 2012. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc is set to cover the final chapters of the original manga, marking the first return of the anime to TV in about 10 years. The first cour aired from October to December 2022, and the second cour aired from July to September 2023.

Episode 27 Synopsis

The battle between the Royal Guard and Yhwach’s Schutzstaffel over the Soul King intensifies. As the fierce clash escalates, Shutara Senjumaru breaks the seal of the Blood Pact at the cost of Kirinji, Hikifune, and Nimaiya’s lives, and unleashes her Bankai, Shatatsu Karagara, cornering Yhwach’s forces, including Uryu. Meanwhile, Ichibei Hyosube confronts Yhwach and releases Shirafude Ichimonji, turning Yhwach into a fragile, insignificant black ant. With both Yhwach and Uryu in dire straits, how will the battle end?
