In celebration of the 45th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam's TV debut, the OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN has been re-edited by Chief Director Yoshikazu Yasuhiko into a three-part "movie edition" for theatrical release. Starting with its premiere at Shinjuku Piccadilly, the film will be shown in theaters across Japan.

To commemorate the release, a special stage greeting featuring Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and character designer Tsukasa Kotobuki will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on September 14th. Additionally, Shimane Cinema ONOZAWA will host a special screening with a stage greeting by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase to celebrate the "Yasuhiko Yoshikazu: The Man Who Draws" exhibition at the Iwami Art Museum starting September 21st. The first chapter will premiere on September 13th at Shinjuku Piccadilly, with subsequent chapters released nationwide from October 25th onwards. Attendees of all three chapters will receive an A5-sized illustration sheet drawn by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko.
