The 7th season of the TV anime Natsume's Book of Friends, titled Natsume's Book of Friends: Shichi, will begin airing on TV Tokyo from October 7th, every Monday night at 12:00 AM. This will be the first new TV series in 7 years since the 6th season aired in 2017, and a promotional video (PV) has also been released.

The released PV also reveals the artists and tracks for the theme songs. The opening theme is "Alca" by Hinata Kashiwagi, and the ending theme is "Komariwarai" by Toshiki Kondo.

The series, based on the manga of the same name serialized in LaLa, follows the story of Takashi Natsume, a boy who has been able to see spirits since childhood. He inherits the "Book of Friends" from his grandmother Reiko and, together with his self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, spends his days returning the names of the spirits bound in the book. The story portrays Natsume’s journey to protect his precious days, helped by his friends, as he interacts with spirits and the people connected to them.

Since its debut in 2003, the series has captivated many readers, and the first season of the TV anime began airing in 2008. By 2017, six seasons had been produced, making it an exceptionally long-running series for a late-night anime.
