The original Wandance manga has surpassed 900,000 copies in circulation. The story follows Kaboku Kotani, a high school student with a stutter who struggles to express himself. He becomes captivated by his classmate, Hikari Wanda, who immerses herself in dance without worrying about others. Inspired by her, Kaboku embarks on a journey to explore freestyle dance, where words are unnecessary.

The series captures audiences not only with its bold and dynamic dance scenes but also with its delicate portrayal of human relationships and sweet moments of romance. The manga enjoys high popularity both in Japan and abroad, having been published in ten languages. It even won the North American manga award "You Should Read This Manga 2023" as a highly anticipated title for anime adaptation. With many fans eager for a visual adaptation, this long-awaited anime is now becoming a reality.

Adding to the excitement, the style of dance featured in the series, "breaking," has recently gained attention as a new sport in the Paris Olympics, where Japan’s representative, Ami Yuasa, won a gold medal. As street dance garners more attention, this anime adaptation is expected to generate significant anticipation.

The anime will be produced by Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics. Additionally, world-renowned dancer RIEHATA, who has choreographed for famous artists such as BTS, will join as the dance producer, promising a groundbreaking and authentic dance animation.

Comment from the Original Creator: Coffee-sensei

"Manga has no sound and no movement. However, it has a unique strength in that the readers can supplement the movement and sound in their imagination. At times, this can create an even more moving experience than watching or listening in real life. Now that Wandance will be adapted into a moving, sound-filled animation, I hope the team will explore it with an experimental and improvisational spirit. Instead of sticking strictly to realism, I’d be thrilled to see them create visuals that surpass our expectations. I hope everyone enjoys it."
