"Oshi no Ko" is a story set in the entertainment industry that began serialization in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) in April 2020. The protagonist, Gorou, works as an obstetrician and meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. However, after dying in an incident, Gorou is reincarnated as Ai's child. This event propels him into the same entertainment world as Ai. The story realistically portrays the entertainment industry, featuring not only idols and actors but also behind-the-scenes staff like directors and producers, gaining widespread popularity.
Aka Akasaka, known for the popular manga "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War," is the original story writer. "Oshi no Ko" has received numerous accolades, including first place in the "Next Manga Award 2021" in the comics category. The manga has surpassed 18 million copies in circulation. The second season of the TV anime is currently airing from July, and a live-action drama series will be available on Prime Video from November, followed by a movie release in December.
