The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 Set for 2027 Release With Teaser PV, Visual, and New Scene Cuts

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 is officially scheduled to air in 2027. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV, new scene cuts, and a teaser visual have been released.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 Teaser Visual Revealed

The teaser PV also introduces the Season 5 teaser visual. The striking monochrome illustration shows Naofumi and the other Four Cardinal Heroes standing back to back with the Hakuko siblings. It is paired with a red logo created exclusively for this announcement, giving the visual a powerful presence.

The series follows Naofumi Iwatani, an ordinary otaku college student who is suddenly summoned to another world. There, he is given a mission as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes, the Shield Hero, who must fight back the Waves, disasters that bring chaos to the world. However, after being betrayed by his companions, Naofumi loses his money, status, and everything he had, beginning a story of rising from the depths of despair.

The TV anime first aired in 2019, followed by Season 2 in 2022, Season 3 in 2023, and Season 4 in 2025.

Director Hitoshi Haga Comments on Season 5

Director Hitoshi Haga, who will continue to direct the fifth season, shared the following comment:

“I am grateful to once again serve as director for the fifth season. Naofumi and his party have been steadily preparing for the coming battle against the Phoenix, together with the other Three Heroes and new companions.
