Fist of the North Star Cour 2 Set for 2027, Episode 15 Preview Highlights Jagi

It has been announced that the second cour of Fist of the North Star, the first completely new Hokuto no Ken anime in 18 years, will be broadcast and streamed in 2027. Alongside the announcement, a preview video for Episode 15 was also released.

The final episode, Episode 14, was broadcast and streamed today. At the end of the episode, a video revealing the second cour and previewing Episode 15 was shown. The preview leaves a strong impression with the appearance of Jagi, one of the four Hokuto brothers.

A New Anime Celebrating the Manga’s 40th Anniversary

The new anime was produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original Hokuto no Ken manga. It marks the first completely new anime entry in 18 years since the film Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior: Part 5, Zero: Legend of Kenshiro, which was released in 2008.

The first cour aired from April to June 2026. With a new staff and cast, as well as the latest visual technology, the anime aims to faithfully adapt the appeal of the original work without leaving anything out.

The Enduring Legacy of Hokuto no Ken

The original Hokuto no Ken manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988. Set in a century’s end world where civilization has collapsed after a final war and violence rules society, the story follows Kenshiro, the successor of Hokuto Shinken, as he grows into a savior while carrying love and sorrow.

The series remains beloved by many readers today, with more than 100 million copies of its collected volumes in circulation worldwide. It has also been adapted into television anime in 1984 to 1987 and 1987 to 1988, anime films in 1986, 2006, 2007 and 2008, and a musical in 2021. The socially influential work marked its 40th anniversary on September 13, 2023.
