Hideaki Anno Shares Khara’s 20th Anniversary Message, With New Commemorative Illustration by Kazuya Tsurumaki

Khara, Inc. marked its 20th anniversary on May 17. Alongside the milestone, a new commemorative illustration drawn by director and animator Kazuya Tsurumaki was released.

On its official website and X account, the company posted a message titled “Greetings on the 20th Anniversary of Khara, Inc.” It stated that Khara was founded on May 17, 2006, and reached its 20th anniversary on May 17, 2026. The company expressed its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has continued to support it.

The company also announced that, to commemorate the anniversary, it would present a newly drawn illustration by Kazuya Tsurumaki, a company director as well as an animation director and animator, along with a comment from President and CEO Hideaki Anno.

In his written message titled “Greetings on the 20th Anniversary of Khara, Inc.,” Anno reflected on how the company began in a small room in a mixed use building in Nishi Shinjuku with one president, one employee, and one adviser. He expressed gratitude, saying the company has since grown into one with its own studio, one that has created numerous works and continues to produce many more today, all thanks to everyone’s support.
