Go with the Clouds, North by Northwest Anime Adaptation Announced: Iceland-Set Detective Adventure Featuring a Suzuki Jimny

The manga Go with the Clouds, North by Northwest (JP: 北北西に曇と往け, Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Yuke) is set to receive a TV anime adaptation. Alongside the announcement, a commemorative illustration and a comment from creator Aki Irie have been released.

The story is a juvenile mystery set in Iceland, specifically at Lands End on the island’s 64th northern latitude. The 17 year old protagonist, Kei Miyama, has three secrets. First, he can talk to cars. Second, he struggles to interact with girls. Third, he works as a detective.

A Refreshing Detective Story Set in Iceland

Kei takes on various cases, from retrieving runaway pets to searching for someone’s first love. Driving his beloved Suzuki Jimny across Iceland’s vast landscapes, the series delivers a refreshing and adventurous detective narrative that is now set to come to life in animation.

When I first realized that drawings moving was something that should not naturally happen, I was deeply moved by the miracle of animation.
