Hiroshi Fujioka Reflects on Kamen Rider’s 55th Anniversary as “Deeply Memorable in Every Way” Appears with Son Maito Fujioka Beside Rider No.1 Statue

Actor Hiroshi Fujioka and his son Maito Fujioka attended a press event on April 8 in Tokyo at Ginza Mitsukoshi. The event marked the launch of the Breitling Japan limited model “Top Time B01 Racing Kamen Rider Limited” alongside a special pop up store.

Originally broadcast on April 3, 1971, Kamen Rider has now reached its 55th anniversary. Hiroshi Fujioka famously portrayed Takeshi Hongo, also known as Kamen Rider No.1. His son Maito Fujioka later took on the same role in the 2021 film Kamen Rider Beyond Generations.

Hiroshi Fujioka reflected on the milestone, stating that 55 years have passed since he first played Kamen Rider No.1, and that the passage of time brings a deep sense of emotion. Maito Fujioka also shared his thoughts, expressing that standing beside the Kamen Rider No.1 statue and the Cyclone motorcycle with his father was something he never imagined, and that the experience was truly overwhelming.

A 55 Year Journey of Challenge and Determination

Looking back on the past 55 years since the series began, Hiroshi Fujioka described his life as a continuous challenge for survival. He explained that in order to survive, one must always choose what is genuine and live with sincerity. Facing challenges, continuing to strive forward, and confronting hardships while living according to one’s destiny were central to his journey.

He concluded by saying that these 55 years have been filled with dramatic experiences and unforgettable memories in every aspect of his life.
