Episode 12 Story

On their way back to the evacuation point, Xylo and Teoritta come across a blood-soaked girl named Iri and take her in. However, she is actually a Spriggan, and the knife she had been hiding suddenly turns toward Teoritta. Meanwhile, Patausche’s lingering doubts finally turn into certainty, and she steels herself for what lies ahead.

Introduction

A hero is the worst punishment in this world.

Those who commit grave sins are sentenced to become “heroes” and are forced to fight the Demon King as their punishment. Even if they are killed, they are revived, never permitted the mercy of death.

Xylo Forbart, a former captain of the Holy Knight Order who has been condemned to hero punishment, leads a penal hero unit made up of deeply flawed individuals as they charge through the front lines of battle.

Amid these brutal conditions, Xylo encounters one of the strongest living weapons in existence, the “Goddess of the Sword,” Theoritta.

“When the enemy is annihilated, you shall praise me… and then stroke my head.”

In order to survive, and to exact revenge on those who cast him into this fate, Xylo enters into a contract with the “goddess.” Throwing himself into a hopeless world, he plunges headlong into a vortex of fierce battles and dark conspiracies.
