Journal With Witch Episode 6 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Makio Recalls Her Parting with Kasamachi

The story and preview images for Episode 6 of the TV anime Journal With Witch (JP: 違国日記, Ikoku Nikki) have been released. This episode will air on Monday, February 9 at 12:00 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 6 Story

While Makio is working alone in her room, her morning friend Emiri pays her a visit. Prompted by Emiri’s casual question, “Is there someone you like?”, Makio is reminded of her past parting with Shingo Kasamachi. Encouraged by these memories, Makio begins typing a message inviting Kasamachi out for drinks, but hesitates just before sending it. However, she accidentally sends the message, leading the two to meet in person. Though Makio tries to remain composed during their first time alone together in a while, her thoughts continue to race endlessly.

About Journal With Witch

Makio Kodai, a reclusive novelist who struggles with social interaction, impulsively decides to take in her niece Asa Takumi after Asa loses her parents in an accident. Asa had been living with Makio’s sister and brother-in-law, who suddenly pass away.

The unexpected start of their life together completely disrupts Makio’s once-quiet daily routine. Unaccustomed to living with others, Makio feels anxious about sharing her life with the 15-year-old Asa.

Meanwhile, Asa, having lost her parents and her sense of belonging, experiences deep loneliness for the first time. In the process, she encounters Makio’s “unadult-like” way of living, which is entirely different from that of her mother.

Makio, who dislikes socializing and prefers solitude, and Asa, who is friendly and straightforward, are complete opposites in personality and values. Despite their confusion, the two begin an awkward shared life together.

This is a tentative, age-gap cohabitation story of two people learning how to live with their own loneliness, side by side.
