The fireman samurai who stopped that great blaze came to be called this―― Hikuidori.

Once known as Hikuidori, Gengo Matsunaga was Edo’s finest fireman samurai. For certain reasons, he had stepped away from firefighting, but one day, an unexpected offer of service arrives from the Shinjo Domain.

The Shinjo Domain’s fire brigade is broke, understaffed, and looked down upon by those around them. With encouragement from his wife, Miyuki, Gengo accepts the role of leader and sets out to rebuild the collapsed brigade. Gathering comrades with quirks and rough edges, they are mocked as the “Boro-Tobi,” yet Gengo and his team fight on with the conviction that “every life must be saved.”

Meanwhile, a series of mysterious suspicious fires known as “Kitsunebi” continues to plague Edo. As impending disaster draws near, a group of stubborn firemen rush into action.

An action-packed entertainment drama about relentless firefighters begins!
