The final results of the second character popularity poll for the highly acclaimed manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" were announced on the official X. Aula, the executioner and antagonist of the protagonist Frieren, ranked second, surprising Ayana Taketatsu, the voice actress who portrays her in the anime, who updated her own X in celebration and astonishment.
The voting project allowed fans to vote for their favorite character from a list of 116 characters via the official website until the 24th. This time, a total of 12,688,733 votes were cast, with the results for the top 30 characters being published. Fern came in third with 864,863 votes, Übel fourth with 847,205 votes, and Frieren fifth with 816,279 votes. The ranks continued with Linie in sixth place, Stark seventh, Mahato of the Golden Country eighth, Solitaire ninth, and Mimic tenth. The following positions were held by the Continental Magic Association Receptionist, Denken, Viebel, Zealie, Zense, the Ultimate Holy Maiden Tote, the Sword Village Headman, an Absurdly Large Hamburger, Raofen, and the Roughnecks rounding out the top 20.
From the 21st to the 30th place, the rankings included the Warrior Gorilla, Renge, the Cat, Ravine, Zain, Rant, Sharf, Bought Bones, Flamme, and Canna respectively. It's noteworthy that in the previous poll, Himmel was first, followed by Frieren, Mimic, Mahato, Fern, Stark, Denken, the Hero of the South, Zain, and Aula.
Aula's shocking scene where she is commanded by Frieren to commit suicide due to the magical effect of "Auserlese" (a spell of submission) in the anime has sparked significant discussions. Despite appearing in only a few episodes, Aula has left a profound impact, earning immense popularity online. Ayana Taketatsu, the voice actress for Aula, expressed her surprise at the results on X, congratulating Aula for securing the second place and wondering if "everyone has been enchanted by Auserlese."
