A brand-new entry in the Mega Man series, titled Mega Man: Dual Override, has been officially announced. The game is scheduled for release in 2027, coinciding with the franchise’s 40th anniversary. The title will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Steam.

This latest installment corresponds to the 12th mainline entry in the series. Details on how Mega Man has evolved in this new title will be revealed in future updates.

Alongside the announcement, a new gameplay video was released, offering a glimpse of Mega Man battling through various stages and showcasing part of the game’s content.

The Mega Man series first debuted in 1987 as an action game for the Family Computer (Famicom). Known for its distinctive characters, high degree of strategic freedom, and finely tuned difficulty, the franchise quickly gained popularity and expanded into numerous series over the years.

Even today, Mega Man remains one of Capcom’s flagship franchises, continuing to enjoy broad popularity across generations.
