The gourmet manga Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san has issued an apology after confirming that the calorie count shown in Chapter 12 was incorrect. The official X account reported that the protagonist Mochizuki’s sushi feast was originally listed as 4853 kcal, but the correct total is 7734 kcal.

The series runs in Young Animal ZERO and Young Animal Web, and previously ranked No. 1 on X’s Japan trends. The story follows 21-year-old Mikoto Mochizuki, an office worker who appears gentle and relaxed but finds her greatest happiness in extreme binge eating. The manga features over-the-top meals, including rich, heavy, mountain-sized dishes, creating a boundary-breaking gourmet comedy. The series has also inspired several corporate collaborations, including three onigiri products and two bento meals released through 7-Eleven.

Regarding the misprint, the official X account explained that Chapter 12 featured an episode in which Mochizuki binge-eats sushi totaling “4853 kcal,” but this figure was found to be incorrect. After recalculation, the correct value is “7734 kcal,” meaning the original number understated the calories by nearly 3000. The statement apologized deeply to readers and to Mochizuki herself for the significant error.

The third volume of Dokagui Daisuki! Mochizuki-san, released on November 28 under Young Animal Comics, includes the corrected calorie data. The publisher added that although they work with utmost care during the proofreading of the collected volumes, they would appreciate it if readers could also double-check the calorie figures to ensure accuracy.
