The TV anime Wandance has officially entered a new Battle Arc. A new character, Gaku Kabeya (CV: Yuma Uchida), makes his debut as an intense B-BOY competitor, and a preview video featuring his acrobatic breaking performance has been released.

In contrast to the first half of the series, where the dance club worked hard toward competition, Episode 8 aired on November 26 kicked off a true “dance battle,” the core of street dance culture, marking the start of the Battle Arc.

In next week’s Episode 9 airing on December 3, protagonist Kaboku Kotani (CV: Koki Uchiyama) and Hikari Wanda (CV: Hina Yomiya) are invited by their upperclassman Iori Itsukushima (CV: Toshiki Masuda) to join an independent practice session and challenge breaking, now an official Olympic sport.

There, they encounter a formidable rival from another school: the new character B-BOY Gaku Kabeya (CV: Yuma Uchida), who specialises exclusively in breaking.

A special preview of Kabeya’s dance performance has been released ahead of the episode. His dynamic breaking moves were performed by dance cast member YU-KI, with the sequence brought to life using motion-capture technology and CG animation.
