The television anime Freiren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, airing from January 16, 2026 at 11 PM every Friday, has released its latest promotional video showcasing an abundance of freshly revealed scenes from the upcoming season. It was also announced that milet will return to perform the ending theme, continuing her work from Season 1.

The newly released PV highlights strikingly beautiful landscapes alongside glimpses of the emotional and dramatic scenes that await viewers. It also features intense battle sequences, one of the defining charms of the Freiren anime, heightening anticipation for the new season.

Season 2’s ending theme will be The Story of Us, performed by singer songwriter milet. The medium tempo track is crafted with milet’s signature blend of clarity and strength, delivering words that watch over Freiren and her companions on their journey while gently encouraging their steps forward. The song offers a different charm from Season 1’s ending theme, Anytime Anywhere.

Like the previous ending theme, The Story of Us is arranged by Evan Call, who continues to compose the soundtrack for the anime. Recently, milet attended my orchestral concert, and being able to speak directly with her there allowed me to understand her personality and warmth even more deeply. With its unconventional timeline beginning “after the Demon King’s defeat,” the series has gained a wide readership through its emotionally resonant drama, memorable dialogue, battles involving magic and swordplay, and gentle humor. The manga won the Grand Prize at the Manga Taisho 2021 and has surpassed 30 million copies in circulation. The anime’s first season aired from September 2023 to March 2024.
