WEBTOON Entertainment, the parent company of LINE Digital Frontier, which operates the LINE Manga digital comic service, has announced a new animation project in collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation. The initiative will jointly produce and globally distribute animated adaptations of ten popular webtoon titles. The project highlights a strategic effort to introduce leading Korean and English-language webtoons to global audiences.

The selected works will be sourced from both the Korean and English versions of the platform. Development will be jointly supported by WEBTOON Productions, based in the United States, and the IP business team at LINE Digital Frontier in Japan.

Yongsoo Kim, CSO and Global Head of WEBTOON Entertainment, commented that WEBTOON has become one of the most exciting sources of original storytelling in modern entertainment. He noted that the company’s creators are building franchises beloved by Gen Z audiences, and that working with Warner Bros. Animation, one of the most respected studios in the industry, presents a remarkable opportunity to further elevate these stories.

Shinbae Kim, Director and CGO of LINE Digital Frontier, emphasized the significance of adding a globally oriented animation project to their existing Japanese production pipeline. He expressed commitment to supporting the development process in Japan, including the discovery of IP more suitable for global markets.

Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, remarked that combining the global artistry of Warner Bros. Animation with WEBTOON’s vibrant storytelling creates a perfect synergy that will enable the creation of something truly special.

Two titles have already been announced for distribution: The Stellar Swordmaster by Hong Dae Ui, juno, and Q10, and Hardcore Leveling Warrior by Sehoon Kim. Additional titles will be revealed at a later date.
