A special Halloween 2025 project for the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries has begun, with new visuals to be unveiled over three consecutive days. The first release, published on October 29, features Xiaolan and Zisui dressed adorably as mummies, accompanied by a new mini voice drama.

The Apothecary Diaries follows Maomao, a pharmacist’s daughter with an obsessive curiosity for poisons and medicine, and Jinshi, a mysterious and handsome eunuch. Together, they unravel a series of perplexing cases inside the imperial palace. The original light novel is written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Nekokurage. On October 22, a special PV celebrating the anime’s second anniversary announced that production is underway for both the third season and the series’ first feature film.

In the newly released Halloween visual, Xiaolan and Shisui wear matching mummy-style outfits wrapped in bandages from head to toe. Shiisui’s trademark hairstyle is also wrapped, transforming it into a cute bandaged look. The visual exudes cheerful energy, capturing the excitement of a lively Halloween celebration.
