“Dorohedoro” New Season Reveals Shocking Yet Playful Key Visual, Streaming Worldwide in Spring 2026

The continuation of the 2020 TV anime Dorohedoro has been officially announced, with global streaming set to begin in spring 2026. Alongside the announcement, a new key visual has been unveiled. In the January 2025 announcement, the series was initially scheduled for release sometime in 2025.

Based on Q Hayashida’s legendary manga that ran for 18 years starting in 2000, Dorohedoro has long captivated fans in Japan and abroad with its unique world, shocking content, and chaotic storytelling. Once considered impossible to adapt for the screen, the series achieved a miraculous TV anime broadcast on January 12, 2020.

The newly released key visual was illustrated by character designer Tomohiro Kishi, who also worked on the first season. It features Caiman, whose head was transformed into that of a lizard by a sorcerer’s magic, with half his body exposed like an anatomical model showing his organs. Sorcerers’ masks hang from meat hooks, creating a shocking yet strangely whimsical image. Despite the visceral imagery, Caiman’s relaxed expression and the vibrant, slightly humorous touches add a playful pop aesthetic, resulting in a visual that perfectly captures Dorohedoro’s signature chaos.

Just like the visual itself, the upcoming season promises a “chaotic” world blending shock, style, and dark humor, brought to life once again by director Yuichiro Hayashi and studio MAPPA.
