The Phenomenon of Demon Slayer

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (2016–2020), Demon Slayer has sold over 220 million copies worldwide. Set in Japan’s Taisho era, it follows Tanjiro Kamado’s journey to avenge his family and restore his sister Nezuko’s humanity. The franchise has become a cultural milestone with hit anime seasons, stage plays, and a record-breaking 2020 film Mugen Train, which grossed over 51.7 billion yen ($ 348 million) globally.

The Road to the Infinity Castle Arc

After adaptations of the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training arcs, the saga now culminates in the three-part film Infinity Castle. The first chapter, Akaza Returns, portrays the Demon Slayer Corps’ final stand against Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons within the Infinite Castle.
