Evangelion Takes Over North America! “EVANGELION WIND SYMPHONY 2025” Makes Its North American Debut

About the Evangelion Series

First airing on TV in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion became a social phenomenon and one of anime’s most influential works. In 2007, the franchise was revived under creator, writer, and general director Hideaki Anno with the Rebuild of Evangelion film series, consisting of Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, and 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo all major box office hits that drew new generations of fans. The fourth and final installment, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, premiered on March 8, 2021, achieving a box office of 10.28 billion yen and attracting 6.73 million viewers. It is currently available for exclusive streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. On October 4, 2025, the Evangelion series will celebrate its 30th anniversary.

About Yoko Takahashi

Yoko Takahashi made her solo debut in 1991 with “P.S. I miss you,” winning the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist and the Cable Music Award for Best Newcomer. Her signature works include the TV opening theme “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” (1995) from Neon Genesis Evangelion and “Tamashii no Refrain” (1997) from Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, both of which remain in strong circulation. With cumulative sales of around 1.75 million CDs, 7 million downloads, and 120 million streams, Takahashi has released 30 singles, 12 albums, and 8 best-of collections.

Since 2018, she has performed worldwide as part of the Evangelion World Tour, visiting Paris, Beijing, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Taiwan, and Moscow. In 2023, she held her first solo Evangelion-themed concert at Zepp Shinjuku (Tokyo), followed by her first solo show in Guangzhou, China, in November 2024. In 2025, her activities span appearances in Japanese media, participation in Evangelion Wind Symphony concerts in Korea and North America, and a solo tour across China. A powerhouse vocalist, Takahashi continues to expand her reach across borders. On October 29, 2025, she will release her commemorative 30th anniversary album EVANGELION FLASHBACK.
