Blue Lock and Tamagotchi Unite for the First Time

Bandai has revealed Blue Lock-tchi, an all-new Tamagotchi product developed in collaboration with the hit soccer manga Blue Lock. The product will launch in 2026, with pre-orders available on Bandai’s official website from August 28 to September 30. This marks the first collaboration between the two franchises.

Raise Over 20 Blue Lock Characters in Color

Blue Lock-tchi allows users to raise more than 20 characters from Blue Lock, including Yoichi Isagi and Seishiro Nagi. By feeding them meals and snacks and playing mini-games, players can nurture their favorite strikers. However, neglecting them will have consequences. The device is part of the Tamagotchi nano line and features a color LCD, bringing the characters to life in vivid pixel art.

Special Creator Comments on the Collaboration

Two special comments were released by the creators of Blue Lock in celebration of the collaboration.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro:
"Thank you for turning Blue Lock into a Tamagotchi. Isagi-tchi is overjoyed, Bachira-tchi is bouncing around, Chigiri-tchi is sprinting, and Kunigami-tchi is doing muscle training. Everyone is tiny and adorable. It's the best. Please enjoy it."

Yusuke Nomura:
"As a child, I never got my hands on a Tamagotchi—it was all the rage, and I went to sleep crying into my pillow. I never imagined I’d be on the collaboration side as an adult. I’m beyond happy to share this news. I hope everyone will welcome Blue Lock-tchi and enjoy their daily life with the characters!"

Tamagotchi’s Continuing Popularity Worldwide

Since its debut in 1996 as a "digital handheld pet," Tamagotchi has gone through four major waves of popularity: its original launch, the communication model in 2004, the anime boom in 2009, and now a fourth resurgence. In July, the Tamagotchi Paradise series launched to strong demand, with first-week sales reaching 150% of the planned target. In August, Bandai also announced that Tamagotchi had surpassed 100 million units in global sales.
