Even a Replica Can Fall in Love Anime Set for 2026 Release, Voil Produces with Sumire Morohoshi as Lead

The TV anime adaptation of the light novel Even a Replica Can Fall in Love is set to air in 2026. Alongside the announcement, the production staff and main cast were revealed, and celebratory comments and illustrations by the original author Harunadon and character designer raemz were also released.

The story follows a bittersweet romance centered on a girl who was created as a substitute for someone else, depicting the emotional and tender moments of youth. The teaser visual features the two main characters: Nao, the replica girl, and Sunao Aikawa, the original who summoned her. The teaser PV, also released, offers the first look at the animation.

The anime is being produced by Voil. Ryuichi Kimura (known for Aikatsu!, Mononogatari, and A Galaxy Next Door) is directing the series. The series composition is handled by Tomoko Shinozuka (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku, Skip and Loafer), and character designs are by Eiji Abiko (Mr. Osomatsu Season 3, Cells at Work! BLACK, Last Hope).


Sumire Morohoshi will voice both Nao and Sunao Aikawa. The teaser PV also marks the debut of her voice work for the characters. Commenting on the role, Morohoshi shared, “The delicacy, strength, charm, and fragility depicted in this refreshing world deeply moved me. It felt like I, too, experienced youth alongside them.”
