Kotaro Daigo to Star in Matchmond Live-Action Film

The upcoming live-action adaptation of Matchmond will feature Kotaro Daigo in the role of Mikio Tokura, a timid and trouble-prone youth drawn into a fierce conflict surrounding a mysterious app called "Match-to-Match." The story follows Mahiro Kagome, an 18-year-old with no money or job, who rescues Mikio and is dragged into battles connected to the app.

Daigo, known for his lead role in Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering With You, has appeared in numerous manga-based films such as Karada Sagashi and OUT. He also starred in A Bouquet for the Baseball Club and played Haku in the stage adaptation of Spirited Away. His recent works include Maiagare!, his first TV drama lead in Ciguatera, and an upcoming role in Netflix’s Alice in Borderland Season 3.

Auditions Open for Main Cast Roles

The film will hold auditions to find new talent for the role of Mahiro Kagome and other main characters.
