Chiquitita is the son of the alien Dover Demon—also known as Mr. Mantis Shrimp. He requires a fresh supply of blood daily, but thanks to Seiko and her friends who provided a cow, he was saved. He now lives with his father. In episode 16, when lava erupts from a volcano, Momo uses a Mongolian Death Worm like a hose to extinguish the flow. However, the Kitou family interferes with her efforts, and Jiji—possessed by an evil spirit—appears, escalating the crisis. It’s at this critical moment that Seiko makes her entrance to the tune of “Chiquitita’s Song.”

Though the original insert song is approximately 2 minutes and 10 seconds long, the newly uploaded video loops it for a full two hours. Online reactions include: “The official team really gets us,” “Chiquitita is too cute!” “This is god-tier official content,” “Two hours!?” and “Whenever I’m down, I power through with Chiquitita,” among others.

Dandadan is based on the popular manga serialized in Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha). It follows the story of Momo Ayase, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun (Ken Takakura), an occult enthusiast. Together, they battle various supernatural phenomena in this occult-themed, coming-of-age battle fantasy.

The unique premise and intense battles have drawn widespread attention, with total manga circulation surpassing 10 million copies. The anime’s first season aired from October to December 2024.
