The story and preview images for Episode 5 of the TV anime The Rising of the Shield Hero (JP: 盾の勇者の成り上がり, Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari) Season 4 have been released. The episode will air on Wednesday, August 6 at 9:00 PM JST and will later be available on streaming platforms in various countries.

Fohl, transformed into his beast form, engages in a fierce battle with Jeralis. Meanwhile, Naofumi and his party confront Jeralis’s subordinates who intrude upon the scene. However, Jeralis consumes his fallen subordinates and undergoes a monstrous transformation.

About The Rising of the Shield Hero

The anime is based on a popular novel that surpassed 300 million page views on the user-generated fiction site "Shōsetsuka ni Narō." The story follows Naofumi Iwatani, an ordinary otaku college student who is suddenly summoned to another world. There, he is chosen as the Shield Hero—one of the Four Cardinal Heroes alongside the Sword, Spear, and Bow Heroes—tasked with defending the world from waves of catastrophic destruction. However, after being betrayed by his companions, he loses everything—his money, status, and trust—and must rise from the depths of despair. The TV anime first aired in 2019, followed by Season 2 in 2022 and Season 3 in 2023.
