Gundam Franchise Unveils 3 Major Updates: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt Hits Theaters Oct 31, Gundam W 30th Visual and Special Video Revealed

The Gundam franchise made major announcements for three titles during the “GUNDAM Showcase - Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing” panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) on July 24.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing unveiled a brand-new key visual inspired by the original anime’s eyecatch art, along with a commemorative short video titled Mobile Suit Gundam Wing -Operation 30th-, directed by Toru Iwasawa.

Meanwhile, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is marking its 10th anniversary since its 2015 broadcast debut with the theatrical release of a special edited version of the spin-off series Urdr-Hunt. Titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt, the re-edited 12-episode arc originally distributed via the mobile app Iron-Blooded Orphans G will premiere in Japanese theaters on Friday, October 31. The film will feature newly animated scenes, and director Tatsuyuki Nagai and other key staff members return alongside Rina Ikoma, who reprises her role as the protagonist.

Additionally, the latest title in the franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, will release the first wave of special advance ticket cards (MoviTicke Cards) on Friday, August 1. Each ticket comes with a limited-edition clear file featuring an original sketch of protagonist Hathaway Noa.
