The Blu-ray and DVD of the animated film 'SPY×FAMILY CODE: White' (released on December 22, 2023) will be available on July 31. Rentals will also start on the same day.
The film follows the story of a top-notch spy named Loid who undertakes espionage missions for a better world. He receives a special mission to "create a family and infiltrate a prestigious school." To accomplish this, he adopts a child, Anya, who has psychic abilities, and proposes a marriage of convenience to Yor, an assassin. Together, they form a "pretend family" and tackle the mission in this spy action comedy.
The movie features Kazuhiro Furuhashi, who directed the first season of the TV anime, as the animation advisor, with Takashi Katagiri, the assistant director from season 1, serving as the director. The script, written by Ichiro Okouchi, is an entirely new original story. The plot kicks off with the Forger family embarking on their first family trip, leading to a series of world-altering events triggered by Anya eating a delicious-looking chocolate they find by chance.
As of March 31, 2024, the movie has grossed 6.26 billion yen in box office revenue and attracted 4.64 million viewers. The bonus disc of the deluxe edition includes exclusive scene select visual commentaries by the cast, as well as footage from the opening day stage greeting and thank-you stage greeting for the hit film. Additional enclosed bonuses include interviews with the staff and cast, a booklet featuring original drawings of iconic scenes, a postcard using the cover illustration of the first pre-order, and a sticker using the second pre-order illustration.
