New Pokémon Stop-Motion Series “The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu” Coming in 2027

A new Pokémon stop-motion animated series titled “The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu” is currently in production, with a release scheduled for 2027. The announcement was made on July 22 during the latest “Pokémon Presents” broadcast on YouTube.

The upcoming series is a collaboration between Pokémon and the world-renowned Aardman Animations, known for its distinctive clay animation style and charming storytelling. The show promises to bring fans a fresh perspective of the Pokémon world—this time told entirely from the viewpoint of Pokémon themselves.

Set in a region familiar to long-time Trainers and dear to Aardman’s creative spirit, the story centers on Sirfetch’d and Pichu, who take center stage as the main characters. With Aardman’s signature humor, craftsmanship, and character design, the series offers a unique, whimsical take on the Pokémon universe.

In recent years, “Pokémon Presents” has also served as a platform for major announcements. In February 2022, it revealed the new-generation games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The February 2024 presentation introduced two major new titles: the mobile game Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket and the upcoming Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, slated for release on Nintendo Switch in October 2025.
