The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 2 Story and Preview Images Released: A Curse? Yoshiki Heads to the Forest with Hikaru and the Others…

The story and preview images for Episode 2 of the TV anime The Summer Hikaru Died (JP: 光が死んだ夏, Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu) have been released. The episode will air in Japan on Sunday, July 13 at 0:55 AM (JST), and will be available on streaming platforms worldwide shortly thereafter.

Episode 1

While the village buzzes about the bizarre and abnormal death of an elderly woman, classmate Yuta Maki confesses that he might be cursed. He claims to have had a terrifying experience while taking an unused forest path on his way home. Responding to Maki's desperate plea, Yoshiki Tsujinaka ventures into the woods with Asako Yamagishi and Yuki Tadokoro—who had been listening in—as well as the ever-curious Hikaru.

As strange and disturbing events unfold around him, Yoshiki is forced to confront chilling truths. Serialized on Young Ace UP, the manga topped the male category of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 (published by Takarajimasha) and has become a breakout hit. The anime series began airing nationwide on Nippon TV starting July 5, and is exclusively distributed worldwide via Netflix.
