Umamusume: Cinderella Gray Cour 2 to Air in October — New PV Reveals International Rivals for Japan Cup
The second cour of the anime Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is set to begin broadcasting in October. A teaser PV has also been released.

In the PV, familiar characters like Oguri Cap, Tamamo Cross, and Gold City make their appearance, joined by new overseas rivals gathering for the international invitational GI race—the Japan Cup.

Umamusume is a cross-media franchise that transforms real-life racehorses such as Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio into characters, spanning games, manga, and anime. Season 1 of the anime aired from April to June 2018, followed by Season 2 in January to March 2021, and Season 3 in October to December 2023. The mobile game launched in February 2021, and the franchise's first theatrical film premiered in May 2024.

Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is based on the manga of the same name serialized in Weekly Young Jump, which has surpassed 6 million copies in circulation. The story follows the strongest Umamusume, Oguri Cap, in a coming-of-age “Cinderella story” that dashes from the local tracks to national legend. It depicts the journey of a gray-haired girl who comes to be known as a “monster.”

This anime adaptation coincides with the upcoming 40th anniversary of the real-life racehorse Oguri Cap’s birth. Directed by Yuki Ito, with series composition by Hitoshi Kaneda and character designs by Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki, the animation is produced by CygamesPictures.
