New Short Anime Project “Light Novel Anime” Launches: Featuring 4 Original Works Including One by “The Apothecary Diaries” Author
The new short anime project “Light Novel Anime” (abbreviated as LanoAni) is set to debut on July 12 as a weekly program titled Weekly Light Novel Anime, airing on TV Asahi and other affiliated networks. The project brings together accomplished light novel authors and popular illustrators to create original five-minute anime episodes that are both engaging and easily digestible—just like a light novel.
Femme Fatale Training Plan
Four titles have been announced as part of this launch. Among them is Femme Fatale Training Plan (JP: ファム・ファタール育成計画, Femme Fatale Ikusei Keikaku), written by Natsu Hyuuga, the acclaimed author of The Apothecary Diaries. Starting June 12, two of the four titles will be released in advance on YouTube, with one title released each day for ten consecutive days.
A Fresh Take on Short Anime: High-Profile Writers & Illustrators
The LanoAni project introduces original stories penned by established authors and brought to life by distinctive character designs. The aim is to deliver compact yet immersive narratives that showcase brand-new stories no one has ever seen before.
The series will air nationwide in Japan every Friday at 2:00 AM starting July 12, as part of the ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block on ABC TV and the TV Asahi network.
Highlights of the Four Announced Titles
■Heartbreak Time Leap (JP: 傷心タイムリープ, Shoshin Time Leap)
Written by Nigojuu (The Detective Is Already Dead), this bittersweet romance mystery follows a high school boy who repeatedly time-leaps in hopes of turning a rejection into a successful relationship. With intricate plot twists and emotional depth, the story challenges the protagonist to discover why he was rejected despite thinking he was guaranteed to win her heart.
■Femme Fatale Training Plan Authored by Natsu Hyuuga (The Apothecary Diaries)
This comedic yet emotional tale revolves around a chubby high school girl determined to lose weight. Her goal? To exact revenge on the man who hurt her beloved cousin by transforming into a femme fatale—an enchantress who leads men to ruin. With humor, sweat, and even a few tears, her journey is vividly portrayed by Hyuuga’s expert character development.
Jack the Reaper
■Jack the Reaper Written by Tappei Nagatsuki (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-)
