The newly released PV highlights one of the key elements of vampire lore in the series—their vulnerability to things they were deeply attached to during their human lives. It also hints at a deeper exploration of Nazuna Nanakusa’s past and the confrontation between her, Ko Yamori, and Anko Uguisu, the mysterious vampire hunter. Set to Creepy Nuts’ “Mirage,” the video provides a vivid glimpse into the intensifying nighttime drama awaiting viewers in Season 2.

As in Season 1, Creepy Nuts returns to provide the theme song, reflecting the narrative and emotional tone of the series. The anime, based on Kotoyama’s manga that ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 2019 and concluded in January 2024, follows Ko Yamori, a socially withdrawn middle schooler who meets Nazuna Nanakusa, a beautiful vampire girl. Together, they embark on a unique and emotionally charged journey through the night.

Creepy Nuts’ Comment

Season 1 portrayed the comforting solitude of nighttime and the sanctuary it offers to those seeking refuge.
Season 2, on the other hand, explores the more melancholic and regretful facets of the night—a place where unresolved feelings dwell.
It’s also about adults grappling with those emotions. As someone who has lived in the night for 20 years, I couldn't see it as a stranger’s story.
Even though I know I should break free from this unhealthy relationship with the night, I continue to drift within it...
This song reflects my own complicated relationship with the night.
